Middle East Trip 2003: Syria | Lebanon | Jordan | Palestine The Palestinian-Israeli conflict Travelogue
Day 21 - Aqaba
10-10-2003
Today is the last full day of the trip, and we decide to dedicate it to rest in the beach. We go to the beach of the more famous diving club in Aqaba, the Royal Diving Club. A taxi charges us 4 JD for the 20 minutes to the RDC, that is close to the Saudi Arabia border. Meanwhile we can enjoy the views of the Israeli and Egyptian coast. The entrance to the beach is a bot expensive, 5 JD per person, and additional JD for the snorkel gear. The beach is not bad, but maybe a bit overcrowded. The reef, to which you access from a comfortable platform, is simply incredible and it's quite better conservated than that of yesterday. One could stay forever there floating and observing the submarine life.
At 17:00 o'clock the last bus leaves the RDC toward Aqaba, so we return to the hotel and enjoy a hot nap. We eat fish for dinner in a nearby restaurant. It's the first time we eat fish in almost three weeks. When we returned to the hotel, we make the checkout in order to simplify the process the following day, so we can catch the bus toward Amman at 6:30 in the morning. We finished the day packing all the gifts inside to our usual baggage to ease its transportation by plane to Spain.
